Last weekend we headed down to Birmingham for our second visit to the National Running Show. We enjoyed it last year, but definitely wanted to get more out of it this year. I did have a shopping list! I wanted to listen to some of the talks too, which I didn’t get to do last time.
Purchases (reviews to follow):
- LED Lenser NEO10R Head Torch
- Gato LED Sport Vest
- Runderwear Sports Bra
- Ronhill tights
- Balega Socks
- Flipbelt Zipper
- Runr Tshirt
- Event Clip number fasteners
I think the show has definitely improved from last year – stalls seemed to have much more stock (some had run out by Saturday lunchtime last year!) and there were more stands too I think.
I had a really interesting foot scan by the people selling Karhu shoes. I’ve never heard of these shoes before and what I saw and tried on was very positive and I’ll definitely investigate further when I’m ready for new shoes. They are only in ten outlets so far, but worth looking out for. The foot scan… I’m hoping that through this link you can see the results of my scan, showing all the measurements that you get. Maybe I’m a stats geek, but I found this fab.

While in Birmingham we visited Babbs Mill parkrun, along with many, many others! Very well done to the volunteers for a very smooth event with more runners than they’ve ever had before. A nice course that we’d be very happy to run again another time.

Shout out for the Premier Inn at the NEC too – it was really easy as we could walk from there to the NEC so no need to move the car and pay twice for parking.
